The site is situated in a rural location and forms part of a larger agricultural field that neighbours the Marple to Strines railway line to the east and River Goyt to the west. Access to the site is by foot only either from the public footpath off Station Road which leads to Strines Railway Station or from a public footpath off Strines Road (B6101) opposite the turning to Pluckbridge Road and signposted for Lum House & Lum Barn.
Location
Limited on street parking is available on the B6101 and side road Plucksbridge Road. Cross the B6101 and follow the footpath / private drive down hill and cross the River Goyt on the Roman Bridge Footbridge. From the footbridge walk up hill to a junction with a larger bridleway and turn right following the river. Continue along the bridleway until just before the bridleway passes under the railway. On the right at this point is a gate into open fields. The gate does not access the site but is immediately adjacent. The site extends South East from this point and lies at the foot of the embankment to the railway.

Interested parties are advised the site is approached via public footpaths which can be muddy and uneven in parts and also provide access to other residential properties. Therefore care and consideration is advised for anyone intending to walk to site.
