January might have felt cold and gloomy for some, but things were definitely heating up in this week’s auction. We had quite the list of properties this month as our bidders continued to stay on the lookout for excellent lots.
We saw 122 lots catalogued, raising over £8 million for our clients and marking an excellent start from our first auction of the year.
Take a look at some of the lots from January that some lucky bidders were able to get a hold of! To view the full list of results, click here.
A four-bedroom Terrace in Sheffield
This larger than average 4 bedroom terrace in Sheffield which offers excellent potential to refurbish and to put your own stamp on was offered at a guide price of £69,500. Following a bidding frenzy with over 70 bids, it sold for over double it’s guide at £161,000.
There was equally lively bidding for Lot 33, a parcel of equestrian / grazing land in Chorley. Deemed suitable for residential development (STP), the land was guided at £40,000 and after receiving a massive 275 bids, it sold for £353,000.
Detached former day centre in Leeds
Also subject to a bidding war, receiving over 180 bids, was this detached former day centre and office premises in Leeds. Sold with vacant possession and suitable for a variety of uses, the property was guided at £150,000 and eventually sold for £524,000.
On the back of our January auction success, we are now looking forward to our February auction where we currently have over 50 lots already listed.
Amongst these are a number of exciting development opportunities, including a former stone chapel in Oldham and a double fronted inner terrace in Sheffield.
We’ve also recently listed this freehold plot of land in Sowerby Bridge which offers an exciting opportunity for residential development (STP).
While we already have an exciting selection of lots on offer for our February auction, there is still time to include your property alongside these. The earlier you instruct us, the sooner we can start marketing for your property and generating interest to ensure you get the best possible price.
